Product description:

On large technical installations, such as wind turbines or (large) ships, ice formation can be a major problem, especially in winter. This brings with it various challenges and dangers. By using the specially developed ECO/BIO de-icing you can prevent ice formation on surfaces.

Ice formation on wind turbines

The probability of ice formation at wind turbines depends, among other things, strongly on various factors:

  • Surrounding temperature
  • Wind turbine temperature
  • Humidity
  • Wind direction- and strength

However, a layer of ice (among other things) often forms on the blades of the wind turbine, especially in the colder winter months. The ice layer can cause major problems because the ice formation disturbs the balance of the wind turbine. This can ultimately lead to imbalance and overloading of the rotating parts, such as the blades. In addition, the air flow can be reduced, which means that less energy is produced.

An additional danger is flying ice, which is an immediate risk factor for the entire environment. It is therefore not without reason that a wind turbine switches off automatically when the sensors detect ice formation.

Ice formation on ships

Low temperatures and high humidity on and around ships can lead to dangerous situations in winter. For example, corridors can become very slippery and thus increase the risk of slipping. Another problem is that moving parts quickly freeze and become unusable as long as the frost persists. It is therefore also very important to take timely measures to prevent ice from forming on a ship.

Eigenschaften:

  • Special form of propylene glycol, with non-corrosive properties and a triazole-free formula for safe use on surfaces.
  • Special improved low foaming agent added for more efficient surface treatment.
  • The standard added yellow color shows at a glance which part of the surface has already been treated.
  • The solution can be easily applied with a pressure sprayer.

Different types:

ECO/BIO De-Icing is available in 2 versions, you can choose which one is best suited for your application. This all has to do with the frost protection point you want to achieve. For example, the normal version offers protection down to -6 degrees Celsius. This has a glycol/water ratio of 10/90%.

Do you need (even) more antifreeze? Then choose the concentrate (100%).
The antifreeze offers protection down to -50 degrees Celsius.
